Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Understand and apply statistical tools.
Prioritize tasks. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Handle multiple projects simultaneously. Prioritize, organize, and help delegate assignments.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and travelers. Understand and communicate safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively before customers and/or employees of organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Requirements
Will climb stairs multiple times per day
Will sit, stand, or walk distances for up to the entire duration of shift
Will lift, push, or pull 25 lbs. on an occasional basis
Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and material.
Perform under AS9100 standards
Essential Duties:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Applications Engineer/CMM Programmer assists Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers and Executive Staff by providing technical information using CMM programming and operating skills to assure product quality inspection of first article, regular production, and re-run machined parts.
They are subject matter experts who take direction from the Engineering Manager and are responsible for providing others with area specific instructions, in addition they may be required to perform the same duties as area workers.
The Application Engineer/CMM Programmer must be a team player, professional and willing to interface with customers, engineering staff, as well as lead and training operators in the shop floor environment.
